Terms and Conditions
Please read this page carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities when using Roommate.
1. Service Description
Roommate is an online platform that connects individuals seeking shared accommodation with tenants wishing to share their accommodation. Roommate is not a party to any agreement or contract entered into between users.
2. Eligibility
To use the platform, users must be of legal age, have legal capacity, and provide accurate, truthful, and up-to-date information.
3. Listing Requirements
By creating a listing, the advertiser represents and warrants that:
* They are a lawful tenant.
* They hold a valid tenancy agreement.
* They have the legal right to share or advertise the accommodation in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
* They have obtained any required approvals, where applicable.
* All information, images, and materials provided are accurate and not misleading.
The advertiser accepts full legal responsibility for any violation of applicable laws or regulations, or for providing false or misleading information or documents.
4. Roommate’s Responsibility
Roommate’s role is limited to providing an online platform connecting users. Roommate does not guarantee the accuracy of listings or information, the validity of tenancy agreements, users’ conduct, or any agreement between users, and shall not be liable for any direct or indirect losses arising from use of the platform.
5. Contracts
Any agreement or contract entered into between users is solely their responsibility, and Roommate is not a party to such agreement or contract.
6. Platform Fees
Any fees charged by Roommate are solely for the use of the platform’s services and do not constitute rent or any payment owed between users.
7. Prohibited Conduct
Users may not:
* Provide false information or documents.
* Impersonate any person or entity.
* Publish unlawful content.
* Upload misleading images or information.
* Engage in fraud or deception.
* Use the platform for any illegal activity.
8. Removal of Listings and Accounts
Roommate reserves the right to remove, modify, suspend, or terminate any listing or account at any time and without prior notice if a violation of these Terms or applicable laws is identified or reasonably suspected.
9. Limitation of Liability
Roommate does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any listing or published information and shall not be liable for any disputes, claims, or losses arising between users.
10. Indemnification
Users agree to indemnify and hold Roommate harmless from any claims, losses, damages, expenses, or liabilities arising from their violation of these Terms, applicable laws, the submission of false information, or any third-party claim resulting from their actions.
11. Privacy
Users agree to Roommate’s Privacy Policy and to the processing of their data as described therein.
12. Changes to Terms
Roommate may amend these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the competent courts of Saudi Arabia shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
14. Identity Verification
Roommate may request identity verification or additional information at any time and may suspend or terminate an account if verification is not completed.
15. Intellectual Property
All rights related to the Roommate name, logo, application design, and content are owned by Roommate and may not be used, copied, or republished without prior written permission.
16. Verification Disclaimer
Roommate does not verify tenancy agreements or the accuracy of information or documents submitted by users and relies on users’ declarations. Users are solely responsible for the accuracy of all information and documents they provide.
17. Off-Platform Transactions
Any communication, agreement, financial transaction, or arrangement conducted outside the platform is solely at the users’ own risk and responsibility, and Roommate shall bear no liability in relation thereto.
18. Force Majeure
Roommate shall not be liable for any interruption or delay in providing the service due to circumstances or events beyond its reasonable control.
19. Acknowledgment and Acceptance
By using the platform, creating an account, or posting a listing, the user confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. The user further confirms that they are a lawful tenant holding a valid tenancy agreement, that they have the legal right to share or advertise the accommodation, and that they accept full legal responsibility for any violation of applicable laws or for any false or inaccurate information or documents they provide.
